- Itinerary: Basilica of Santo Stefano – the Two Towers – the Corte Isolani
- Duration of the guided tour: 2 h approx.
In the heart of Bologna, starting from the famous Asinelli and Garisenda Towers, symbols of the city, which are strategically located at the entry point of the ancient via Emilia; we will stroll along via S. Stefano, between the Palazzo della Mercanzia, seat of the Chamber of Commerce and an extraordinary example of Bolognese Gothic, and the Alberici Tower, seat on the ground floor of the oldest documented shop in the city, to reach the magnificent abbey complex of S. Stefano, called of the “Seven Churches” and the “Holy Jerusalem of Bologna”, built on top of a pre-existing temple dedicated to Isis. The buildings of the ancient monastery are reminiscent of the sacred places of the Holy Land, creating a unique, suggestive and engaging atmosphere. This will be followed by a walk along the Corte Isolani (the courtyard of palazzo Isolani), restored and accessible up to Strada Maggiore, with the possibility of an aperitif at the end of the day.
